Volunteer Appreciation Program
  • Volunteers Are the Heart of Tennessee’s Community Healthcare

    FQHCs, free and charitable clinics, and rural practice sitesrely on dedicated volunteers who give their time, skills, and compassion to strengthen the health of their communities. TCWD is proud to celebrate and support these individuals—and the sites that uplift them.
  • Use of Funds

    This funding is designed to support, recognize, and strengthen your volunteer workforce. TCWD encourages award sites to reinvest these dollars directly into volunteer engagement through activities such as:

    • Volunteer appreciation events
    • Equipment or tools that assist volunteers in performing their service
    • Swag or recognition items that celebrate volunteer contribution

    Volunteer Hour Requirement

    To be eligible, sites must meet the following criteria:

    • Provide documented proof of at least 500 volunteer service hours.
    • Volunteer hours must reflect activity between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2025.

    Documentation Requirements

    Documentation should be uploaded as an Excel spreadsheet and should include the following information:

    • Volunteer name
    • Site name
    • County
    • Volunteer type (i.e., clinical, non-clinical)
    • Total hours of service

  • Additional Funding for Clinical Education & Training Hours

    In addition to serving as a vital lifeline for underserved and rural communities, our FQHCs, Free and Charitable Clinics, Community Practice Sites, and Rural Hospitals play a crucial role in shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals. By offering clinical rotations and shadowing opportunities, these sites introduce students to community-based care as a meaningful, viable, and rewarding career path.

    Additional funding is available for sites that offer:

    • Clinical student rotations 
    • High school student shadowing opportunties

    Clinical Education & Shadowing Hour Requirement

    To be eligible, sites must meet the following criteria:

    • Provide documented proof of at least 250 clinical education and/or shadowing hours.
    • Volunteer hours must reflect activity between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2025.

    Documentation Requirements

    Documentation should be uploaded as an excel spreadsheet and contain the following information:

    • Student name
    • Education type (Clinical Rotation or Shadowing)
    • School name
    • School contact (Clinical Coordinator or Teacher)
    • Site name
    • County
    • Total hours of service
